Privacy Policy

Overview
Roster Rush is built to be played without an account. We do not ask you to sign up and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other information that directly identifies you. We do, however, generate an anonymous install identifier and collect limited, de-identified usage and diagnostic data so we can operate and improve the game, and we work with third parties for in-app purchases and advertising. This policy explains what we collect and why.
Anonymous install identifier
When you first open Roster Rush, the app generates a random identifier (a UUID that is not derived from your device or any personal information). We use this identifier to count active installs, understand which features are used, and associate your ad-free subscription with your install. It is not linked to your name or email. Deleting the app or clearing app storage rotates the identifier.
What we store on your device
- Your streak, win/loss history, and game progress.
- Your selected league, difficulty, and accessibility settings.
- Your ad-free subscription status.
This data lives on your device and, if you opt in, is backed up via Apple iCloud or Google Drive under your existing platform account. We do not receive those backups.
Usage and diagnostic data we collect
Regardless of whether you subscribe, the app sends a small amount of data to our servers, tied to your anonymous install identifier, your app version, and your platform (iOS or Android):
- Product interaction: app launches, and game events (game started, won, or lost, including the number of guesses and how long the game took).
- Diagnostics: crash and error reports, including error messages and stack traces. Before these leave your device we automatically redact things that look like email addresses or long number sequences.
We do not store your IP address in this usage data. As with any internet service, our hosting and third-party providers process standard connection information (including IP address) to deliver the service, under their own privacy policies.
Purchases and subscriptions
The optional Remove Ads auto-renewing subscription is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed with our payments provider, RevenueCat. Apple or Google process your payment — we never receive your card details. We do receive and store subscription records associated with your anonymous install identifier, including the product purchased, price, currency, store, country of the store account, subscription status, and renewal/expiration dates, so we can unlock the ad-free experience and provide support.
Ads and tracking (free version)
The free version of Roster Rush shows banner and occasional full-screen (interstitial) ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier and related information.
On iOS, before any personalized advertising or cross-app tracking occurs, we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (and, where applicable, Google's consent prompt). If you allow tracking, AdMob may use your advertising identifier and activity to personalize and measure ads — this constitutes "tracking" as defined by Apple. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized. You can change this choice at any time in your device's Settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). Subscribing to Remove Ads turns off ads entirely.
Third parties we share data with
- Apple App Store / Google Play — payment processing and receipt validation.
- RevenueCat — subscription management and entitlement checks.
- Google AdMob — serving and measuring ads in the free version.
- Cloudflare — hosting our servers and delivering game data.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use dedicated third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, or Sentry) in the app.
Children
Roster Rush is rated 4+ and is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can clear all local Roster Rush data at any time by deleting the app. On iOS you can change or withdraw ad-tracking permission in Settings at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data, or to opt out of certain processing — for example under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because our usage data is tied only to an anonymous install identifier that we cannot connect to your real-world identity, we may not be able to locate it without that identifier; deleting the app removes it going forward. To exercise any right, email us at the address below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
